Most mother-of-pearl watches are dainty dress pieces. The Jade JDM-WL031-01 puts that shimmering white mother-of-pearl dial inside a sporty 36 mm steel case with an engraved, graduated white bezel, and rates it to 100 m.

Every dial is unique

Mother-of-pearl comes from the inner layer of certain shells, so no two dials reflect light quite the same way. Expect hints of pink, blue or silver depending on the angle.

Two straps in the box

You get white silicone and black silicone. White for summer and light outfits, black for the gym or a more understated look. Both handle water, sweat and sunscreen without complaint.

The rest

Swiss Ronda quartz movement with three hands and no date, so the dial stays clean, under sapphire crystal. Swiss Made, and good for swimming.

Heads-up: white silicone can pick up dye from new denim. Soapy water usually takes care of it.
